Catalysing Clean Energy Transitions Across Continents

Our Story

In a world standing at the crossroads of crisis and opportunity, Lumetior was born from a simple yet powerful belief: that light — of knowledge, innovation, and cooperation — can guide us toward a thriving planet.

Our name, Lumetior, blends the Latin word lumen (light) with a futuristic suffix evoking forward motion and evolution. It symbolizes not just illumination in the literal sense, but also the clarity of vision, the brilliance of bold ideas, and the spark of global transformation.

The founders, Dan and Samira, met in 2024 and recognized a shared commitment to shaping a better future. They created Lumetior to seize this opportunity and turn vision into action.

We exist to empower the shift toward a regenerative, future-resilient world — where natural systems, clean technology, and human ingenuity work in harmony. From energy transitions to smart infrastructure and beyond, Lumetior supports those leading the change through strategic partnerships, grounded expertise, and catalytic innovation.

We don’t just imagine a better future — we build the frameworks, align the actors, and unlock the potential to realize it.

Our Team

Our founders bring deep technical expertise in hydrogen and energy systems, paired with extensive experience in international business development, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement across five continents.

Dr. Samira Farahani

Samira brings over 15 years of experience in designing and optimizing integrated energy systems, with a focus on renewables, hydrogen, green gases, and sector coupling.

Known for her systems thinking and policy fluency, she combines deep technical expertise with international experience and cross-sector collaboration. She has worked globally across Europe, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East, engaging with stakeholders on energy policy, regulation, and project development.

Her career spans leading institutions and companies, including CODAHEA, the Dutch and Belgian Hydrogen Associations, Accenture, Max Planck Institute, Caltech, and Delft University of Technology. She collaborated with major companies such as Shell, Engie, RWE, Stedin, and Gasunie, and had strategic advisory roles to the Dutch ministries and the Benelux Secretariat.

Samira has led major cross-border initiatives, involving TSOs, ports, and regional governments across Benelux, France, and Germany. At Dutch Hydrogen Association, she authored policy-influencing position papers to shape national hydrogen infrastructure policy, and established international partnerships. She is also the co-editor of Shaping an Inclusive Energy Transition (Springer) and author of several high-impact journal articles in hydrogen and energy transition landscape.

Dan O’Sullivan

Dan brings over 30 years of experience in sustainable development, energy innovation, and global partnerships across Europe, East Asia, the USA, and Australia.

He has delivered high-impact programs in energy, environment, and sustainable development through roles at CSIRO, Origin Energy, and the Queensland and NSW Governments. Dan is known for building collaborative, multidisciplinary teams and embedding strategic outcomes through partnerships with government, industry, and research communities.

He has managed nearly $30M in research funding over 12 years, leading initiatives in hydrogen energy, natural gas, carbon and nutrient trading, and socio-environmental systems. He also led international clean energy collaboration efforts involving over ten countries, advancing frontier technologies through targeted partnerships.

In industry, Dan pioneered sustainability reporting frameworks using tools aligned with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Materiality Assessment, CDP, DJSI, and LBG. His government work includes early breakthroughs in market-based instruments (MBI) such as emissions trading, load-based licensing, and environmental offsets — delivering scalable, cost-effective environmental outcomes.
